Important information regarding investment scams and cold calls (including calls being directed at Invesco and Invesco Perpetual investment trust shareholders).
These are sophisticated attempts at fraudulently acquiring information and money.
We are not authorised to give investment advice; therefore, our staff will not make cold-calls or contact you by telephone or email to make investment recommendations.
We are specifically aware of three potential scams:
1) An investment scam using the name “Global Invesco” or “Nordic Market Services Ltd”
Members of the public have made us aware that a company by the name of “Global Invesco” which is allegedly owned by a firm called “Nordic Market Services Ltd” is in operation. This company is making reference to being linked to Invesco Perpetual’s Global Investment Series. Please beware that this firm is NOT connected to Invesco Perpetual or any of its subsidiaries.
If you have been contacted by this company we would urge you to exercise extreme caution and not respond to them in any way. We would encourage you to report the approach to the Financial Conduct Authority’s Consumer Helpline on 0800 111 6768 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and also Action Fraud (the National Fraud & Cyber Crime reporting Centre) on 0300 123 2040.
2) An investment scam (carbon credit/commodity investment) using the company name "Invesco Capital Ltd".
Certain members of the public are receiving cold calls by persons purporting to work for a fictitious company called "Invesco Capital Ltd". These callers are offering services in arranging or recovering commodity investments or carbon credits. They have also set up a website in the name of Invescocapital.com. This scam is using the Invesco brand to give it credibility.
If you have been contacted in this manner we would urge you to exercise extreme caution and not to respond to them in any way. We would urge you to report the approach to the Financial Conduct Authority's Consumer Helpline on 0800 111 6768 or email email@example.com and also Action Fraud (the National Fraud & Cyber Crime Reporting centre) on 0300 123 2040.
3) Cold calls to Invesco and Invesco Perpetual investment trust shareholders
Direct shareholders of Perpetual Income and Growth Investment Trust plc (PIGIT) are being approached by people who say they're calling from Invesco Perpetual or from a range of different companies (usually from abroad). These callers try to persuade individuals to "sell" their shares under the guise of an alleged hostile takeover bid.
If you've already been approached about an offer to sell your shares in relation to Perpetual Income and Growth Investment Trust plc or another Invesco or Invesco Perpetual investment trust, we would advise you to exercise extreme caution and not to respond to them in any way. We would urge you to report the approach to the Financial Conduct Authority's Consumer Helpline on 0800 111 6768 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Additionally, if you are a direct shareholder, we urge you to advise the Registrar of the investment trust who holds the record of shareholders.

Sadly, scams of this nature are not uncommon: they can target anyone and the callers themselves can sound both credible and trustworthy. If you are ever unsure about the credentials of anyone who tells you they are calling from Invesco or Invesco Perpetual, please call us on 0800 085 8677. Please note telephone calls may be recorded.
